Mobile App Updates

Our team has released StudioCloud mobile app version 0.8.018.  The updates to the mobile app that are listed below are based on user feedback. Thank you for all of the feedback you have provided.  We will be making future updates based on your feedback.

Changes to the Client page

• Some StudioCloud users have more than 20,000 clients in the system and displaying them all in one list would be very data intensive for most cell phone plans and it would really slow down the application.  As a result,  the client interface is a search only interface which resulted in quite a bit of confusion on how to find clients. In this update the interface is still a search based interface but our team has added instructions to the page to reduce the confusion.  In addition, they have updated the search to search based on first name, last name, and business.  If you search with two or more words then the search will try to separate those and search based on first and last name.

• Our team has removed the separate client, prospective client, and lead lists as all of them were the same interface and returning very similar information as the All Clients interface.  Instead they have replaced that with a list of clients that have been recently modified.  The system will display the 10 most  recently modified clients, prospective clients, and leads.  You will also see buttons to page through that list.

Changes to the Calendar 

• The previous version of the mobile device used a daily agenda for the calendar.  Based on user feedback this has been moved to separate Agenda component and our team has added a new calendar that includes month, week, and day views.

 

 

Miscellaneous Updates

• We updated the create/edit event interface to use the native date and time components. 
• We fixed various bugs with login and the create/edit event interface

StudioCloud App in Amazon App Store

We are very happy to announce that the StudioCloud Mobile Business Manager app is now available on the Amazon App Store for Android devices!  This means that you can now download it to your Kindle Fire or Kindle Fire HD.  You can find the app at the following link: http://www.amazon.com/DaVincis-Desk-Inc-StudioCloud-Business/dp/B00B5NWKTK/

The app is called "StudioCloud Business Manager HD".  For those that have non-Amazon Android devices this is the same app that is available on Google Play.  In addition, this is a completely new app and not an upgrade to the app previously available on the Amazon App Store.  As a result, you will need to uninstall the previous version and install this new app.

The app includes the following functionality:

• Prospective Client (leads) Management
• Graphical Calendar
• Graphical Scheduler
• Agenda
• Invoicing
• Project and Task Management
• Time Tracking

iPhone App Now Available

StudioCloud is excited to announce the release of the new StudioCloud iPhone app available right now on the Apple app store. You can see a screen shot of the scheduling section of the app below.

The app is called "StudioCloud Mobile Business Manager" and can be found at the following link https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/studiocloud-mobile-business/id586132205?mt=8. Please note that the app is currently in open beta. Please also note that this is a completely new app and not an upgrade to the previous iPhone app. As such you will need to install this app directly from the app store rather then upgrade the other.

The Smartphone app includes the following functionality.

• Graphical Scheduler

iPhone App Now Available

StudioCloud is pleased to announce that StudioCloud mobile, our iPhone app, is now available for free in the Apple App Store.


The application includes client management, an agenda view with filter capabilities, task and project management, time tracking, and syncing. The time tracking and syncing capabilities do require a StudioCloud CloudBoost or EmployeeBoost add-on.

New StudioCloud Features!

The development team has been hard at work to bring you many new and exciting features. The features that have been added to the software allow for more user customization and an overall intuitive experience!

Some of these new features include:

An entirely new customizable PDF invoice! You can change the color of the tables, add file names, insert a personalized message to each invoice, choose which columns to display and more!

Create and email documents and Contracts! With our document generator, you can quickly and easily create document and contract templates that are auto filled when attached to a client, event, or invoice. This new feature will save you extensive time and energy by taking out the tedious step of filling out the information yourself.

New tax reports! These reports are Cash Based and Accrual Based. Some states require tax reports based off cash or accrual, and these two tables will help you depending on your individual state tax requirements.

More import options! You can now import a client list in CSV format with either comma separated or tab delimited, making the switch from a third-party software easier and much more simple.

A new extensive Bookkeeping report! In the Bookkeeping section of StudioCloud, you can easily track your income and expenses. In the new Chart of Categories report, it breaks down and totals each income and expense section to help you stay on target with your business financial goals.

Project and Task alerts! Have you ever missed a deadline for a project? With this new feature, you can rest assured that your projects will be finished on time with new project and tasks alerts that remind you when the project is due.

Request Online ePayments from customers! This feature works hand in hand with your Merchant WareHouse account. If a customer cannot make it to your office to make a payment, simply send them an ePayment request! With this new feature, you can always make sure that your customers pay you on time.

Credit Card Swiping! This new feature allows you to swipe a customer’s credit card directly from your office, eliminating the need for you to manually enter in their credit card information. Working with your Merchant WareHouse account, you can then process the payment and record it in your StudioCloud account.

View your billing history! If you’ve ever wanted to know your billing history with StudioCloud, you can now find that information quickly and easily with this new feature.

Store credit card information! With this exciting new feature, you can store and save a customer credit card information safely with your Merchant WareHouse account. This way, if you need to charge the customer at a later date, you can.

Clock in and out from StudioCloud mobile! This feature allows you or your employees to clock in and out from any location while it automatically tracks your hours back to your StudioCloud account. If you are not using studiocloud.com/m from your phone or other mobile devices, check it out!

Jobs and Tasks on the Go

Recently the StudioCloud development team updated StudioCloud Mobile 2.0 to allow you to view jobs and tasks. Once you login to your account via the mobile interface you will see Jobs as the third item in the list right below Clients. If you click on Jobs you will see a list of your jobs that you have previously setup. Clicking on a job will show you a list of tasks for that job. In turn, clicking on a task will show you some of the task details.

In addition, if you are a Professional Suite user you can even view which jobs and tasks are assigned to each employee. If you click on one of your employee's names you can see all of the tasks and jobs currently assigned to them.

Finally, with the most basic information (name and description) you can create a new job. Once you create a new job or you have selected an existing job you can create a new task using name, description, and priority.

Tip of the Week-StudioCloud Mobile

This week’s Tip of the Week has to do with accessing your studio while on the go. StudioCloud is excited to announce the new and improved StudioCloud Mobile 2.0. The new StudioCloud Mobile 2.0 gives photographers the ability to add new appointments and clients from any Internet enabled device such as an iPhone, Blackberry, Palm, etc. Having the ability to check your schedule as well as adding new appointments while on the go will help you to improve your studio’s time management.

View Your Contacts Anytime, Anywhere

The StudioCloud Mobile development team is at it again. Just a few days ago I wrote about the extended abilities of the calendar in the StudioCloud Mobile interface. Well last night the developers released the latest installment of StudioCloud Mobile, the address book. You can now access your StudioCloud address book anytime, anywhere through the StudioCloud Mobile interface. Once you have logged in to StudioCloud Mobile, the link, that was previously labeled "Coming Soon", is now active. When you click on the link it gives you a break down of your address book according to the first letter in your contact's last name. You can click on any of the characters to find the contact you are looking for and view all of the information you have saved in StudioCloud.

Changes to StudioCloud Mobile

We would like to thank everyone for their feedback on StudioCloud Mobile. We are working hard to provide you with a viable solution for mobile devices. In last night's update the next step in the mobile calendar arrived. Previously you were only able to see your sessions and appointments for the current day. Obviously this isn't as helpful as a mobile calendar should be. As a result, the developers have been working hard to allow you to see more information. Now when you first login to StudioCloud Mobile you will see not only today's appointments and sessions but all of the appointments and sessions for the next six days. Moreover, you can now move forward and backward seven days at a time and view even more information.

There is still more to come for StudioCloud Mobile but we are taking one step at a time. Check back here often for the latest updates.

Mobile Access

You can now view the current day's schedule from any mobile device that has internet access. Coming soon you will be able to view any day's schedule, schedule appointments, add/view clients, and view price lists from your mobile devices.
