Important CloudBoost Changes

As mentioned in a different blog post StudioCloud has discontinued the CloudBoost add-on and is now giving it away for free. All current CloudBoost users have been upgraded, with no change to their subscription, to have an EmployeeBoost account with 3 EmployeeBoost users. As an added clarification, current CloudBoost users are now getting the EmployeeBoost for the same price that they paid to get the CloudBoost. If you are a CloudBoost user your monthly subscription has not been changed.

Some CloudBoost users have had questions regarding the major differences between a free account and the CloudBoost account that they previously had. Below is a list of the major differences.
  • Free accounts do not receive email, live chat, or trouble ticket support.
  • Free accounts must click the "Click to Sync" button in the bottom left of their screen to sync. For paid for accounts it automatically syncs in the background while you work.
  • Free accounts can not export StudioCloud's calendar to third party applications.
  • Free accounts do not have access to CloudAlerts unless they purchase a CloudAlerts subscription.
Please note that EmployeeBoost users accounts were not changed.

What does this change mean to customers already paying full price for EmployeeBoost?

There is no change for employeeBoost users. I added a comment to the blog post to clarify this.

Essentially, anyone who has a free account will not be helped if an issue arises?

Free accounts can receive support on the forum at http://mystudiocloud.com

Does this mean that cloudboost users now pay $60 per month?

Landon Green said...

No. It means that CloudBoost users get EmployeeBoost for $30 per month. Or they get it at whatever they were previously paying for CloudBoost. For example, a long time ago CloudBoost used to cost $25 per month. So those customers will be getting the EmployeeBoost for $25 per month. In other words your subscription has not been changed.

Can we buy extra employee access for the $3.00 per if we were upgraded from cloudboost? Mine is greyed out unless I pay the $60 per month for employee boost

Please contact support and they can help you upgrade your subscription.

Do new users pay $60 for employee boost subscription? or do new subscribers get it for $30 also?

The change only affected current CloudBoost customers. Current EmployeeBoost customers and future EmployeeBoost customers must pay the $60 per month subscription fee.

I am a free user and just tried to Sync with StudioCloud on my iPhone. It repeatedly states (under the Sync With StudioCloud) button, "CloudBoost Add-On Required" and freezes.

The app you are using is the old iphone app that is no longer supported by studiocloud. Please delete it and download the latest studiocloud app from the apple app store. You should be able to login just fine with the new app.

Does the CloudBoost now will open .pdf files too ? I know I can store them there, but I can only open .jpg or image files. I will sign back with CloudBoost when I am able to open the .pdf files.
